In this post, we invite you to the heart of the Tagus International Biosphere Reserve, specifically to the town of Carbajo (Cáceres), where one of the most important and unique musical events on the regional scene takes place every year in the middle of autumn: the “EL MAGUSTO” CELTIC-FOLK FESTIVAL. Its 22nd edition will take place on November 1st (Saturday) in the aforementioned town. The grandeur and originality of this festival lies in the efforts of the organizers, a local non-profit association, who have been able to produce a musical event of such magnitude in a setting of incomparable environmental importance and beauty. Year after year, they manage to attract the most relevant Celtic-Folk musical groups, both nationally and internationally.

At El Magusto, besides its main musical attraction, you’ll find much more, as one of the Festival’s goals is also to raise awareness about environmental care, and what better way to do so than from a Biosphere Reserve. Therefore, at this event, you can also find presentations, talks, exhibitions, outdoor activities, and more, where adults and children can learn about all the benefits of environmental protection. Throughout the day, there’s also time and space to enjoy craft markets, free multi-adventure activities for children, local cuisine, and traditional folklore.

The El Magusto Celtic-Folk Festival is another great example of an authentic, original, and grassroots initiative, capable of maintaining and transmitting the cultural and environmental heritage that this destination combines. Once again, it demonstrates how great things can be achieved from a very small place.
